Sump Flood Pumps

There are many benefits of having a backup sump pump. For example if theres a flood, brownout or thunderstorm and the electrical supply gets shut off. There could also be many other reasons such as technical fault on the sump pump iteself. The idea of a backup sump pump is that if the primary pump fails, the backup will kick in until the issue can be resolved.
There are two types of backup sump pump. The first which is connected to your houses water supply and it operated by water pressure (as mentioned on the sump pump types page) and the other which is run from a 12 volt rechargable battery.
Many experts consider having a backup sump pump to be essential. If you dont and you are affected by a flood, not only do you run the risk of a decrease in value of your house due to a damaged foundation but you may not be liable to claim off your insurance. Many insurance companys limit the coverage of flood damage or they may simply require you to pay an extra premium if you do want to be covered.
